About the event

Paul van Barneveld is a strategic designer, brand advisor and founder of Brave, a Brisbane-based consultancy he has led since 1997. With more than 25 years’ experience, Paul specialises in Human Centred Design and applies design-led methodologies to uncover insights, shape strategy, and improve customer engagement.


He works with clients across sectors including healthcare and medical technology, infrastructure, energy, education, retail, professional services and community organisations. His focus is on aligning business purpose, customer engagement and strategic brand positioning to drive growth and deliver measurable outcomes.


Paul has held national leadership roles in the design sector, including serving as Board Chair of the Australian Graphic Design Association (AGDA) and as CEO of the Australian Design Alliance. He brings experience in governance, strategy, policy development and stakeholder engagement, along with a commitment to advancing the role of design as a strategic tool for change.
